A question I get during almost every walkthrough: "So how many hours will this take?" I understand why people ask — most service work is billed hourly, so it's the natural frame people reach for. But I don't price this way, and I think it actually serves you better.

When pricing is hourly, there's a built-in tension: the faster I work, the less I make, and the slower I work, the more it costs you. Neither of those incentives is good for you. Pricing by the visit removes that entirely. I quote based on what your home actually needs — its size, its layout, its current condition — and then I provide the agreed-upon visit without rushing the work or stretching the clock. You're not watching a clock, and neither am I.

Priced hourly

Faster work means less pay for me. Slower work means a bigger bill for you. The incentive works against both of us.

Priced by the visit

One quote, based on what your home needs. No clock-watching, no incentive to rush or drag things out.

It also means the quality doesn't drift depending on the day. Normal variations from visit to visit are built into the service, while larger projects or requested add-ons are discussed separately. That consistency is the whole point of working with the same person, visit after visit.

It's also part of why the Client Journey works the way it does. The Maintenance Preparation Clean and your ongoing maintenance visits are both priced by the visit for the same reason — the price reflects what your home actually needs, not a clock running in the background.
